Google Advertisements Account Managers Should Not Contact Customers Directly

There are a growing number of reports across the web of Google Ads accounts supervisors threatening to get in touch with customers straight, in spite of not being permitted to.

According to the reports, firms who do not react to emails from Google Ads account managers are being met with dangers from Google reps to get in touch with customers straight.

In many cases, the Google Advertisements account supervisors call customers and inform them to drop their agencies.

There are 2 things to explain here:

  1. Agencies are not needed to speak with Google associates
  2. At no point ought to a Google Advertisements account manager call a company’s client

A Google Advertisements associate informing clients to fire their company crosses the line.

However, these reports are becoming more frequent.

Matt Janaway, CEO of Marketing Labs, shared his experience on LinkedIn this week:

support our marketers and agency partners.” Screenshot from:, November 2022. Janaway isn’t alone in his experience. Throughout October, reports circulated on Reddit of Google representatives engaging in comparable practices. One Reddit user published a screenshot of an email gotten by a Google Advertisements Account

Strategist, which checks out: “I am writing to you one last time as a courtesy, because my honest goal is to provide you

value and innovative strategies with google ads and deal with you carefully, to assist you save time and make your customers more successful with google ads, hence I am contacting you for the last time to notify you that if I do not reach you, I will presume that you are not getting my emails and will get in touch with the clients that I have been assigned directly.”Another Reddit user has almost the very same story, saying they

‘ve been “pestered”with day-to-day emails from a Google Advertisements representative to get on a call and implement project modifications. Once again, agencies aren’t obliged to speak with Google associates or implement modifications clients aren’t requesting. Need to you receive an email like the one above, the best thing to do is submit a complaint through

Google’s main kind. Beware of these aggressive sales methods. As long as you’re not breaking any policies, Google has no say over

how you run your customers’campaigns. Included Image: FGC/Best SMM Panel
