Google Is Restoring Missing Evaluations In Company Profiles

Google is restoring missing out on evaluations in Google Service Profiles after fixing a bug that caused them to get removed.

Google is repairing a bug that caused reviews to go missing out on from Google Business Profiles. Google validates reviews are getting brought back. Google’s Search Liaison, Danny Sullivan, announced on Buy Twitter Verified in reply to Mike Blumenthal, who states he reported the bug a week back.

Blumenthal isn’t exaggerating the seriousness of the bug. Evaluations are a restaurant’s support, and eliminating them can significantly impact profits.

There are many threads in the Google Organization Profile help online forums begun by entrepreneur who lost most or all of their evaluations.

In each thread, business owners share something in typical. After using Google’s suggested edits to their service profile, they all lost reviews.

Blumenthal composes in a blog post that he found Google was changing the customer recognition (CID) number when organizations used recommended edits:

“With some digging, I discovered that in each case Google had actually altered the CID, the identifier Google uses to connect all pertinent info to a business, consisting of reviews. Typically the CID just alters when 2 listings merge or Google has hard-suspended a listing for guidelines infractions and then renewed it.”

Customer reviews are associated with a particular CID number, which suggests changing the CID removes the evaluations.

That should never ever take place, specifically not when applying Google’s suggested edits.

A fix is on the method, and ideally, it’s as easy as reverting the affected Google Business Profiles to their initial CID numbers.

We’ll update this post if Google shares additional information.
